The Prince’s Room is situated on ground floor at the base of Rapunzel’s Tower. The room was erected on the same spot where the prince rested for the first time when he listened to the sweet song of Rapunzel. Obviously this room was not part of the original tower, and was build centuries later in honour of the prince who waited so eagerly on this spot to hear his beloved Rapunzel sing.

The room is decorated with masculine undertones in strong, vivid colours of purple, burgundy and emerald green. The shield used by the prince to fence of the fearsome dragons of the time can be seen hanging above the Queen size bed.

Even his fire torches (used to light his path through the dangerous and gloomy forests) were converted and used as light fittings in the room. The Persian carpet on the laminated wooden floor was a gift to the prince on one of his many visits to the Middle East.

One of the biggest features of the room must surely be the life-size mural painting of the prince and his beloved Rapunzel. The painting of 6 square meters covers an entire wall and was masterfully created by The Singing Palette.

“The man came to see his love every night when he was certain the sorceress would be gone, and each time brought with him a skein of silk, and eventually the day arrived when Rapunzel finished weaving the silken ladder by which she had promised the man she would descend from the tower so that they might go away together.”

To ensure that the silken ladder would hold the weight of Rapunzel, the Prince had to travel to the four corners of the world to find only the best quality silk. Some of this silk was used to weave the imported fabric used in the curtains of this room. The curtains are decorated with golden chain and a section of the curtain hangs from the centre of the ceiling resulting in a very dramatic effect.

Because the prince had to endure so many cold evenings where he had to sleep in the open veld during his long trips to the unknown, it was decided to provide him with ultimate luxury in his bed when he return. Crisp embroided linen, an electrical blanket and a hand stitched quilt was chosen for his comfort.

The en-suite bathroom features imported Italian tiles (with the relief of Rapunzel carved in stone as decorative tiles), pulsating shower head and heated towel rail. Stained glass windows ensure privacy and an unforgettable glow in the afternoon sun.

Plush embroided bath gowns, extra large bath towels, a King’s waste towel, Queen’s hair towel, face cloths and hairdryer are provided for your comfort.
